About the Author of Arkansas Homeschoolers

I am a freelance writer and a homeschool veteran of 16 years. Currently I have 2 boys that I homeschool, one child in college and another is grown. I’ve tried many curriculums and homeschool styles through trial and error I know what works for us and what did not work. I’m happy to share my experiences with my readers.

In November of 2011, I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. This rocked my entire world. For me, I was glad that my children were homeschooled through this ordeal. Working around chemo and surgery schedules was not easy, but we managed. I had my kids at home, without the added stress of having a public school sticking their nose into my business. We juggled our schedules, and  my boys learned to work more independently. If I had to do this all over again, I would not have changed sticking with homeschool.

My intention with this blog is to inform readers about homschooling and homeschool happenings in Arkansas. If I can homeschool two boys while battling breast cancer, anyone can do it.
