EAA Young Eagles Kids Fly Free Event

On August 15, 2009 from 8am to noon the EAA will host a Young Eagles kids fly free event. Children ages 8 to 17 get to fly in a small aircraft for free. The event takes place at the Beaver Lake Aviation Hangar in Rogers, Arkansas. There will be a fly-in breakfast to benefit charity. Breakfast will be served from 8am to 10am. We went last year and the kids had a blast. Keep in mind that the pilots are donating their time, their aricraft and the fuel to fly the kids. This is a big deal, especially when you consider the cost of airplane fuel is $5.00 a gallon or more.

Homeschoolers can tie this event into aviation and the study of flight. The Arkansas Civilian Air Corp will most likely be there. This is a great time for kids and parents to find out about careers and opportunities in aviation for the kids.
